About the June Writing Challenge

The June Writing Challenge is a 30-day blog writing challenge that will spice up your blog.  Through this challenge, you will learn new post formats, and work on your writing skills daily for 30-days.  Did you know that studies show posting daily on your blog will help your viewers get more involved in your blog by learning about you and your blogging journey?  The June Writing Challenge will get definitely get you more views and if your content is great, you will get new subscribers as well.

June is a great month to get outside and get some sun, but it is also when most bloggers hit a slump in their writing.  It is not because we don’t want to write, it is because we want to be out doing things! Our kids are out of school, the weather is wonderful, and we want to be enjoying the world and not stuck at our desks writing.  The June Writing Challenge was created to keep you writing while enjoying the summer days and nights.

The June Writing Challenge will focus on you and sunshine, rainstorms, gardens, traveling, and eating.  There will be a variety of posts from informative articles, to recipes and lists…it is a chance to hone in on your writing skills.  You can complete these challenges in a journal for yourself, create posts to share on social media, or create daily posts for your blog.  It is going to be fun!

June Writing Challenge

HI!  I am looking for some great content!

What if the June Writing Challenge doesn’t fit your niche?

This writing challenge may not totally fit your niche, but you can be creative and find a way to make it work.  If it doesn’t work at all I suggest creating a new category, “June Writing Challenge” or “Summer Writing Challenge”.  If you create a challenge category your viewers can follow along for the month of June and can learn more about you and your blog.  Then, at the end of June, you can simply hide the category. All your posts are still there, but not open to the public anymore.

If you do not want to create a new category, you can use the blog challenge to help build your social media by creating your articles and share them on your favorite social media daily.  To do this you simply will write shorter posts and create your own memes in Canva.

If neither of these ideas works for you just start your day with the challenge and write in a personal journal.  It is all about getting the creative juices flowing.

How to Write the Posts for the June Writing Challenge

First, take the time to complete the warm-up activity.  The activities will help clear your mind for writing and also get you in shape for your summer swimwear.

Always think of your niche when writing the challenge posts. In fact, you should, stay as close to your branding as much as possible.  These prompts are just ideas to help you write every day…but they are only ideas and you can change them to meet your needs and your niche.

Remember, if you are creating posts for your website, the articles should be about 1000 words, use titles, tags, and headings that fit your niche and enhance your SEO.  Make sure you add quality images to all your articles and remember to add alt text and descriptions. If you have trouble finding your own images, you can use Pexels.com and Canva.com, to search for fun images that will fit almost any post.  Both of these sites have many non- copyrighted images for free.

Up your SEO with some great new content!    Get out there and Write!

A great marketing strategy is to add an affiliate link if it fits in the article.  For instance, if you are writing your favorite Grilling Recipe, add a link to Amazon for your viewers to click and buy the special tool you are using.

In addition, think of places in the article you can add backlinks, linkbacks, or links to your own blog or other reputable blogs.  Make sure the links flow easily in the article and opens in a new window (you don’t want them to leave your website!).
