What is Valentine’s Day? To me, it is a day to show my significant other that they are special. Since we show our love for each other daily, we enjoy Valentine’s Day as a day to spoil each other. Sometimes we go out and sometimes we stay home, but no matter what we do, we make sure to make it special.
This Valentine’s Day is no exception to the rule. This year I am preparing a Movie Theme night. You can prepare a Movie and Dinner at Home Date Night any night of the year, but Valentine’s Day will make it even more special. You can watch Twister and eat steak, eggs, mashed potatoes and gravy with lemonade and coffee, or Fried Green Tomatoes and dine on southern food, or how about Casablanca and have champagne and pasta. Whatever you choose, make it fun and romantic with some awesome decorations.
The Valentine’s DAy we will be doing a Dinner and Movie date night. For this special evening, we will be watching the movie Forrest Gump and our decorations and food will be inspired by love and the movie.
We will begin our romantic evening by making our own chocolate truffles, while we enjoy Blue Cheese Stuffed Shrimp…although this was not mentioned in the movie, who can go wrong with shrimp and blue cheese? Paired with our favorite Vodka Martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. We will then turn on the movie and move on to our main course of Coconut Shrimp paired with a pinot noir for me and a hefeweizen for him. Oh my, then it is on to dessert! My favorite part of the evening, we get to eat our homemade Truffles paired with a chocolate wine.
You can’t go wrong with a romantic evening at home with a movie and great food! And as a bonus, it is easy on your budget too!
Here are some Valentine’s Day Decorations I will be using…you have to have a lot of pillows while eating and watching the movie!
